Limited Liability Partnership
Created under the Ontario Partnership Act, a Limited Liability Partnership is a special purpose entity. Unlike a regular partnership, a partner is only liable for his own acts, not the acts of other members of the partnership.

This entity can only be created where authorized by a professional governing body. Many professional partnerships have transformed themselves into LLPs to give added protection to their members.
